About The Keystone Project Discipleship Training
We hold month-long, two-week, week-long, and customizable trainings for special groups and mission teams throughout the calendar year. You can read more about each of our available upcoming training events here and in our Global Updates blog.
All US Trainings are available for citizens of the US and Canada (or internationals residing therein at the time of the training). Both US and international students from around the world are welcome to attend one of our International Leaders Trainings—regardless of ministry position. Our trainings are open to all Christians willing to be radically challenged by the Great Commission. Both church leaders and new believers will benefit from this paradigm-shifting training.
Students can submit their application for the training by paying a nonrefundable application fee of 25 USD. This fee can only be paid by credit card, and it is included in the TRAINING APPLICATION FORM (see previous page). Students are also responsible for their travel expenses, including their visa fee and airfare. There is a Lodging Fee charged by the Rushmore Express for the month-long international training events; however, the shorter US/Canada training events remain free of this Lodging Fee.
The Rushmore Express is owned by The Keystone Project and supports the vision and mission of the ministry. Since the hotel is closed during the off-season in the winter and has faced increased operational costs, there is a Lodging Fee for our month-long training events. This measure allows the hotel to be better equipped to cover its own expenses and create a pattern that is more sustainable for the future as the training continues to grow. Please see details below.
The Keystone Project provides the training conference, meals, and ground transportation during the dates of the training at no additional cost. Generous donations have allowed us to keep these training expenses low for our students. If you would like to support The Keystone Project with a meaningful donation and help make this possible, it would be greatly appreciated!
Lodging Fee for Month-Long Trainings
The Rushmore Express has recently implemented a Lodging Fee to help cover the operational expenses of housing students. There are three different rates available for students (the amounts listed below are for the entire training).
- Single rate with roommate – $499
- Single rate without roommate – $799 (limited availability)
- Double rate for married couples and/or family members – $999
After submitting your confirmed itinerary to Rapid City, SD, USA, you will receive instructions from the Rushmore Express Booking Coordinator, so that you can make your down payment to secure housing for the training. This down payment will be 20% of the entire Lodging Fee and will be nonrefundable. The remainder of your Lodging Fee will be subject to the 24-hour cancellation policy of the Rushmore Express.
Please note that the hotel is not making any profit on this fee. For a student with a roommate, this fee is approximately $18 per day, which is a very reasonable cost for a hotel room. For this reason, we ask that students remain flexible with the accommodations that are available. As stated above, the training conference is still provided free of charge by The Keystone Project, along with meals, ground transportation, sightseeing trips, and other training materials.
Training Location & Accommodations
The training takes place in The Keystone Project Ministry Center in beautiful Keystone, South Dakota (home of Mt. Rushmore). Upon your arrival, we will transport you from the Rapid City Regional Airport (RAP) to the hotel where you will be staying: the Rushmore Express Inn and Family Suites. Most students who are not coming with a spouse will share a room with another student of the same gender. A continental breakfast and a catered lunch and dinner will also be provided with registration unless otherwise noted. Additional details and FAQs are provided in your registration.
The Keystone Project offers either Spanish or French language translation for international students at specified training events.
Hosting a Training
We also do Keystone Project trainings outside of Keystone, SD, in the nations and here in the US. Please contact us if you would like to host a training. Our staff and instructors pay all their own expenses; however, local training hosts are responsible for securing the training venue and recruiting students. The Keystone Project does not provide scholarships or pay the travel costs of training participants.
