Study after study has confirmed that groups that try to start with a goal of community, and hope somehow to move toward a mission, almost never get there. A mission must be the organizing principle of the group. When we start with a mission, we always get the community, because we band together for a common goal, because we'll need to care for one another in the midst of the battle of the mission.Mike Breen, Building a Discipling Culture
