2020 May Newsletter

Beloved Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I greet all of you in the precious and highly exalted name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

During this pandemic, I have received many messages from our network of kingdom co-laborers in the nations. I know that many pastors are starving, as are their church members. The current lockdown has closed their churches, businesses, and schools. Many poor villagers are unable to grow their crops and are begging for food. They do not have any government assistance to help them.  My heart breaks as I read of so much suffering. Still, during this time, I am also receiving many reports of new movements of disciples being launched, villages and communities being reached, and kingdom acts of justice occurring (feeding the hungry, praying for the sick, providing medical care). Many people are turning to God as a result of the spread of the coronavirus. Some are rediscovering their faith, and many others are finding new faith and hope in Christ.

Currently, our hotel, which is the largest source of income for The Keystone Project, is open but has very few guests. Our projection model for the tourist season, when we generate most of our revenue, is not very encouraging due to the continued coronavirus fears and lockdown. We have a local staff of approximately 30 people, including children, and many of them have been working without pay for some time. They have sacrificed so much for the kingdom of God! While we have received some government assistance, it is not enough to cover our expenses. God is faithful, and we have not lacked any necessities; but this is the time when we need to set aside funds for the off-season, when the hotel is not open and when we do most of our training.

The training events we do here are always done at minimal cost to the students. Housing and feeding 60 students for a month can cost us at least $30,000 and often more. We thank the Lord for the generous support we have received, which has enabled us to serve the Lord and His precious people in the nations. However, as we navigate this uncertain time, we need even more help than ever before to continue the work set before us. Would you prayerfully consider becoming a Keystone Project partner with a monthly donation? Your support reaches thousands of people every year by preaching the gospel of the kingdom and launching movements of multiplying disciples. Those disciples are not just sitting in churches and having good quiet times in their Bibles. They are going out on the mission of the kingdom of God, blessing those who are poor, marginalized, oppressed, and helpless. Even a small monthly gift will make a huge impact for Jesus in the nations by reaching people who have limited access to the gospel. Thank you, and may the Lord bless and keep you during these challenging days!
